I really wish you the best, but I like I suggested to 3 other artists here today: find work locally! Just circle around where you live (like a cat) - bring your portfolio and eyeball whatever business owner will see you! Convince them it will help bring in business.... maybe even offer to do a piece a week.
If I saw a sandwich board that looked like one of your illustrations, I'd stop and look!
